- If you haven’t already, download your version of QuickBooks Desktop. Save the file somewhere you can find it (like your Windows desktop).

- Open the file QuickBooks.exe.
- Follow the on-screen instructions. Accept the software license agreement and then select Next.
- Enter your product and license numbers. Then select Next.
Note: You will require an active internet connection to install the software.
Decide which install path is right for you
You have two options when you install QuickBooks, You can do the express install, or custom and network.
Express install
We recommend express install if you’re:
- A first-time user.
- Reinstalling QuickBooks.
- Going to use QuickBooks on one computer (not as part of a network of computers).
- Select Express and then Next.
- Select Install.
- When it finishes, select Open QuickBooks.
Custom and Network install
We recommend a custom install if you:
- Install QuickBooks somewhere other than the default location (such as on a server).
- Host your company files on a server.
- Have a multi-user network.
- Select Custom and Network Options and then Next.
- Select the option that describes how you’ll use QuickBooks.
- On the next display, select Change the install location.
- Select Browse to decide where to put your QuickBooks folder. Most people put it in their Programs folder.
- Select Next to start the install.
- When it finishes, select Open QuickBooks.

No, Microsoft has discontinued support for Windows 7, and we cannot offer support or any software compatible with Windows 7 systems. There are a number of reasons you may want to consider upgrading your system to a newer Windows operating system; security being most pertinent.
Please check the downloads manager in your web browser for the status of your download. Every time the download button is clicked on the website your browser may launch a new download without notifying you. To see a list of current and previous downloads: on Google Chrome press the CTRL + J keys (Windows) or CMD + J keys (MAC).

To download and install your software, please follow these instructions:

Please check the License Code to make sure you have entered it correctly. Sometimes the S and the 5 or G and 6 look alike. It is best if you copy and paste the license number into the activation window to avoid invalid input. In other instances there may be a possible backend issue that you will need to contact support to resolve.
